The ACE 4.0 Project is committed to impacting lives and this is exactly what we are doing by sharing the love of God through which the team has been helping others to live, love, laugh and learn.
The Widows And Development Support Services (WADSS) was one of the ACE 4.0 Awards nominees in the first cycle of nominations. Following the review by the ACE Review Committee (ARC) they became the beneficiaries of a training award. On Tuesday 30th of April, 2013, the initiator of ACE 4.0 Project, Mrs. Omolola Omoteso Famuyiwa, a milliner and member of the ACE 4.0 Project, Ms. Odubanjo, a trainee of Cares Global Network, Master Damilola Adedayo and a member of Divine Connection Latifat Jimoh visited the office of WADDS to conduct the training for WADSS members.
Following the introduction by Mrs. Laura Williams the Executive Director (ED) of the organisation, Mrs Omoteso, set the ball rolling by encouraging the participations via a talk on "Surviving Grief" and using their experience as a talking point by developing skills in the "Art of Public Speaking".
Thereafter, Ms. Odubanjo conducted the millinery training and taught the excited participants how to make sinamay roses with petals, bows, clips and alice bands. The director who was full of thanks kept taking pictures she instantly posted on Facebook.
After the participants were given materials to enable them practice at home, the Executive Director encouraged them to send photos and promised that those nicely made would be photographed and forwarded to Google and probably marketed online.
Mrs. Omoteso encouraged participants to use the skills to advantage by taking up the challenge to make use and prepare to sell to others. According to her, "God and empowerment is the key to surviving grief".
The ED at the close of the training insisted that the team should prepare to return for a full day training with more participants. Many thanks to the ACE 4.0 Project for sponsoring the first HAT (Hair Accessories Training) for WADSS.
