Though she is presently in SSII in a public school, they have begun discussion about how she’ll have to wait for a year to save some money for her NECO exams (15k). Her representative confirmed that 5k will be sourced through other channels in the event she benefits from the award. Mary will be 20 in December 2013.

2)    TOLULOPE ELEGBE
He has a growing interest in graphic designing. He intends to support himself for higher education through the skill and possibly support his parents. He received an offer from a reputable computer training centre that is willing to train him free in exchange for free service as clerical assistant at the centre. Tolulope is however not able to afford the transportation which is N120/day for 3 months = N10, 800.

3)    ABIKE JOLAOSO
Abike is bright girl in Senior Secondary School. Though she lost both parents at a tender age, her grandmother and brothers have continued to struggle to keep her in school. The challenge however is in the area of having the right resources - books. Abike is able to study on her and excel without the help of lesson teachers but this is greatly undermined because she has to rely on the magnanimity and wait on friends to read textbooks. The funds will help solve this problem. If Abike wins the award she would be advised to pass on the books to another indigent person in her school after she successfully writes her exams and no longer need the books.

4)    SULIYA OWOYEMI
The report of Suliaya Owoyemi of Oyo State was brought to us by a Good Samaritan last year, being a case of child abuse, we referred it to the Lagos Satte Government but till date nothing has been done. Suliya is made to hawk heavy yams in the Ajeromi area during school hours by her aunty who brought her to Lagos. While what we would have loved is to put her in school, the award will help lay a better foundation for her by giving her the opportunity to attend a lesson. Through this, she can be better positioned for school in the nearest future.

5)    KAFILAT AMINU YUSUF*
She works as a cleaner for a company in Ilupeju. While attempting to retake her WAEC two years ago, she became pregnant and that stalled her educational aspiration. Her ambition of becomign a journalist is one she still holds dear to her heart. The award will support this aspiration as fund will be used towards payment for a course in basic journalism, basic production or basic studio management course at FRCN Training school in Oshodi. Her surname will be confirmed and sent.

6)    SHINA OLAONI
He received training and has experience as a printer. He needs funds to purchase a machine to enable him start his own business. The cost is N70,000 of which he has N30,000 saved. The seller however agreed to give him the machine at a down payment of N40,000. The award will enable this ambitious young man make the payment, fulfill his dream of owning a printing press and care for his grandmother.

7)    ONYEKA IKEM
This determined young lady is interested in paying her way through school since her parents are not able to support her. She has identified the sale of eggs as a lucrative business especially because there is no egg seller in her newly dominated and fast growing area of Ibadan. She intends to use the profit from the sale to obtain trainign in photography, begin freelance work as a photographer and save proceeds for her university education. The award will enable her pay for her training.
